The Manuel Antonio Food Scene
Manuel Antonio is one of the most popular beach towns in Costa Rica, so the demand for top quality restaurants is high! We have inclued some out our favourites places to eat!
Typical Costa Rican Food! The most popular Costa Rican food would be their breakfasts and lunches. Gallo Pinto is a country staple, as well as their Caribbean chicken, Rice and Bean Chifrijo and others.

There are a selection of 'European Bakeries' that serve lunch and dinner. From croissants to ciabatta sandwiches, these bakeries are always a food choice for whichever meal.

There is a huge selection of International cuisine in Manuel Antonio. From Asian to Italian, all the international favourites have a place in the town center.

At the beach it's hard to stay away from desserts. From chain ice cream spots to the best homemade cakes in the region, there's a spot for your sweet tooth usually jsut around the corner.

The Best Local Restaurants
Costa Rica has a slogan, 'No Artificial Ingredients'. As the slogan suggests, Costa Rican food is very fresh, using the top local ingredients from farmers markets.


Emilios Cafe - Emilio's has modern takes on Costa Rican Classics, open breakfast through till dinner, and with the best views around. Emilio's is not open on Tuesdays, but other than that they're the premier dining spot in the area.

Cafe Milagro - With live music and great typical Costa Rican food and drinks, Milagro's is a great palce for either a coffee, cocktail, breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Monarca - Affiliated with a butterfly garden and crocodile sanctuary, eating at Monarca is always an experience, and only a short walk away from the Manuel Antonio Tree House Villas. Open for breakfast and late lunch.

Agua Azul - With an incredible view of the bay of Manuel Antonio, the food and drinks at Agua Azul is decent! With classic meals and great drinks, Agua Azul is open all day.

La Luna Restaurant – A refined dining experience at Gaia Hotel, offering breathtaking ocean views and a menu blending Costa Rican gourmet and international flavors.

Shana Restaurante – A casual-yet-elegant dining spot serving fresh Italian, seafood, and Mediterranean dishes in a serene setting with ocean breezes.

Manuel Antonio Falafel Bar – A vibrant Mediterranean eatery specializing in fresh falafel, hummus, and shawarma, with a colorful and relaxed atmosphere.

From top sunset spots and sports bars to more top places to dance, Manuel Antonio has some top places to have a drink or a virgin cocktail. Many of the bars are also cafés so you'll usually find a great place for a drink while you're out for a coffee!


Bar Jolly Roger Manuel Antonio – A lively spot at Hotel Byblos, famous for its wings, burgers, cold drinks, and live music, creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere.

Yolo Social – Yolo Social is just a 5 minute walk through the back of our Manuel Antonio Villas. With Live sport and live music, it can be a vibe!

Ape Eletric Social Bar – Ape bar is a 2nd floor bar that is popular with locals and tourists. With a youthful demographic brought in through DJs, It's a fun spot for drinking and dancing.
